TROCAR

A trocar is a medical instrument used primarily in minimally invasive surgeries to create an access point into the body for the insertion of other surgical instruments, such as a camera (in laparoscopy) or a catheter. It consists of a sharp, pointed tip, a cannula (a hollow tube), and often a seal that prevents leakage of gas or fluids. The trocar is typically inserted through the skin to access internal organs or cavities, allowing for procedures to be performed with smaller incisions and faster recovery times compared to traditional surgery. It is commonly used in procedures like laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, and certain diagnostic procedures.
