TROCAR

A trocar is a medical instrument used primarily in minimally invasive surgeries to create an access point into the body for the insertion of other surgical instruments, such as a camera (in laparoscopy) or a catheter. It consists of a sharp, pointed tip, a cannula (a hollow tube), and often a seal that prevents leakage of gas or fluids.
