Trach Tube

A tracheostomy tube (or trach tube) is a medical device inserted into a surgically created opening in the neck called a tracheostoma. This opening is made through a procedure known as tracheostomy, which provides a direct airway to the trachea (windpipe) when the upper airway (mouth and nose) is obstructed, blocked, or not functioning properly. Tracheostomy tubes are used for patients who need long-term ventilation or airway support and are particularly helpful for those with conditions affecting the airway or breathing.
